Emma Pooley

Olympic silver medalist, three-time Olympic cyclist and former world time trial champion, Emma Pooley is now a multi-sport athlete and world champion in long-distance duathlon. [Photo credit: CJ Photo]


After graduating from the University of Cambridge, Emma combined professional cycling at the highest level with a PhD in geotechnical engineering. She won multiple international stage races and World Cups, and gained silver medals at Olympic and Commonwealth Games. She is also a committed team player, supporting teammates in the road race to silver and gold medals at Olympics, Commonwealth Games, and world championships. In 2010 she won the time trial world championships. After stepping back from professional cycling in 2014 Emma has continued to achieve world class results in multi-sport (winning the Alpe d’Huez triathlon 2015 and dominating the long-course duathlon world championships for 3 consecutive years) and long-distance running.
