Project Description

Georgie Bruinvels

Georgie is an exercise physiologist who specialises in endurance athletes.

After receiving my BSc in Physiology from Bristol University I am currently in the process of finishing my PhD in exercise physiology at University College London. My PhD is particularly focused on iron metabolism and female athletes, and I have published research in this area. I have a specific interest in the female athlete and how the menstrual cycle can impact upon exercise performance.

I also work for Orreco and St Mary’s University as an exercise physiologist, regularly testing and monitoring athletes across all participation levels from elite to recreational in the performance lab at St Mary’s University. I have worked with numerous international athletes on training camps abroad. As someone who loves running I find this complements my work perfectly.
