From 2008 to 2013 I worked as Endurance Medical Officer and then Institute Medical Officer to British Athletics at their National Performance Institute in Loughborough.
I worked with Team GB’s endurance athletes in the 4 years preceding the London Olympics at altitude training camps in France and Kenya and worked with GB and N Ireland teams at World and European Cross Country Championships from 2007 to 2013.
I worked for Team GB and LOCOG at the London Olympic Games in 2012, was Team Doctor to the British Paralympic Athletics Team for the IPC world championships in 2013 and was Chief Medical Officer to Team GB at the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China in 2014.
I currently work as clinical lead for the NHS musculoskeletal service at University Hospital of South Manchester, as a musculoskeletal physician with Bupa and as a Sports Physician with Orthteam, British Athletics and British Triathlon.
My clinical interests include overuse tendon and bone stress injuries, fatigue and underperformance in sport, sports cardiology and concussion in sport.
I am a member of Manchester Triathlon Club.
