Project Description

Sonia Samuels

Sonia is an Olympic marathoner for Team GB, and ranks 7th on the UK’s all-time lists over that distance. Her understanding of how to achieve this level of performance will allow her to guide you in getting the best out of yourself.

Athlete/Coach

In 2016, 24 years after Sonia started, she finally realized her dream of becoming an Olympian – competing in the Rio marathon.

Sonia has represented Great Britain and England on many occasions since her debut in 1997 and is proud to boast representative honours across all surfaces (Road, XC and track). Outside of the Olympics, she came 16th at the 2013 World Championships (marathon) and 7th at the 2014 Commonwealth Games (10,000m). She is also the UK’s 7th fastest marathon runner of all time with a PB of 2:28.04.

Outside of running Sonia is passionate about good healthy, fresh food and optimal nutrition. She loves cooking up new recipes with whatever is fresh and in-season. She occasional post the ones that work on my personal website. Coupled with this she grows her own vegetables in her garden.

Sonia also loves road cycling and is an avid Tour de France fan having been to watch on many occasions. She is also a bit of an extreme sports addict, when she has some downtime from running, and has dived with sharks (night and day!), done a sky dive and loves skiing.
